Lipscomb University offers institutional merit scholarships in the areas of academics and athletics to those who qualify.
A FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is required for most institutional awards.

Academic Scholarships – These awards are given to first time freshmen, transfers and continuing students. Details about these scholarships are available to incoming students in the most recent Financial Aid Brochure.
Scholarship Exceptions
All Lipscomb University academic scholarships are valid up to 132 hours. From time to time, exceptions to the 132 hour rule will be made for students who have unusual or extenuating circumstances. The request for a scholarship extension must be turned in to the Financial Aid Office at least two weeks prior to the start of the semester in question. Extensions will not be made for semesters already in progress.
Scholarship Special Request
Scholarship: Request for Awarding or Reinstatment
Regular Undergraduate students who do not enter with an Academic Scholarship may be awarded according to the transfer scale after earning at least 24 hours at Lipscomb. Adult Study Undergraduate students are awarded after earning at least 18 hours.
When aid has been lost due to cumulative GPA and/or other probation issues, this form is the appropriate method to request reinstatement (if applicable). Need-based aid such as Memorial Scholarship is awarded on a year to year basis and may not be available after the fall term of each academic year.
All requests must be date-stamped into the Financial Aid Office by the “Last Day to Drop Class With a Partial Refund” date as listed on the official calendar. Late requests will be deferred until the following semester (if applicable).
Request for Awarding or Reinstatment
Transfer Scholarships (Regular Undergraduates) - Awarded according to college GPA on the final transcript.
Phi Theta Kappa- The student must be enrolled full-time, and have a minimum 3.5 GPA , having earned an associate degree or at least 50 hours that transfer to Lipscomb. Click here to go to the admissions page for Transfer Students. PTK Scholarships are awarded and attemded by the student.
Dean's Research Grant - Lipscomb awards a limited number of non-renewable Dean's Research Grants. Recipients are selected by college deans.
Multi-Cultural Award - The award is for students who have one or more biological parents who are from a recognized non-Caucasian ethnic group (e.g. African-American, Asian, Hispanic). Eligible students must be a U.S. citizen and are required to file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) each year.
Employment Discounts for Undergraduate Students
Lipscomb University offers tuition grants to students whose parent/spouse is employed full-time in certain Christian works that are associated with the churches of Christ. Employment eligibility for this discount includes an administrator, teacher or staff of a current National Christian School Association member school or university. The discount is available from the beginning of the employment and must be verified each year. The employed parent should complete the Parent section and have the appropriate school official to complete the Employer section. Please return the form by March 15 so that the discount is included in the financial aid award package. We cannot guarantee a prompt credit of the discount if the form is received after the March 15 date.
An employment verification form must be submitted for each student. Tuition grants will not be credited until the form is received. These discounts are available to children who are enrolled in undergraduate studies, who are less than 25 years old, and who are dependent for federal tax purposes. This award is subject to all GPA and probation restrictions as described in the Lipscomb University Undergraduate Catalog and is available only for the customary duration of an academic program. Married children are not eligible. A full load of at least 12 hours is required to receive the grant. Eligible students must file a FASFA each academic year and live on campus. National Christian School Association Directory
Foreign Missionary Discount for Undergraduate Students
Lipscomb University offers tuition grants to students whose parent/spouse is employed full-time in certain Christian works that are associated with the churches of Christ. For a missionary in a foreign country, the discount is available from the beginning of the employment and must be verified each year. The employed parent should complete the Parent section and have the appropriate church elder complete the Employer section. Please return the form by March 15 so that the discount is included in the financial aid award package. Youth Ministers Discount- There is a 50% tuition discount for the children of Church of Christ youth ministers. The Church of Christ Youth Minister must have 10 years full-time employment and still be working in the field, or 20 years employment, whether in the field or not. The tuition discount combined with academic scholarship may not exceed 50% of tuition. However, a student may choose the tuition grant or academic award, whichever is greater. This award is subject to all GPA and probation restrictions as described in the Lipscomb University Undergraduate Catalog and is available only for the customary duration of an academic program. Minister's Children Grant- Lipscomb University offers a minimum base grant of $5,000 to the children of full time ministers of the Church of Christ. This award is offered to first-time freshmen and undergraduate transfers with at least one parent whose primary paid vocation is that of a full-time minister at a Church of Christ congregation (self-employed minister as defined by the IRD in Publication 517 and work at least 40 hours per week.) The grant, combined with academic scholarship, may not exceed $5,000. The student may choose an earned academic in lieu of the Minister's Children Grant if the academic is higher. Students who show additional unmet financial need not met by other sources may qualify for Lipscomb need-based aid as well.

NEED-BASED AWARDS
Lipscomb University Memorial Awards - A Memorial Scholarship is available to students with demonstrated need, based fully on FAFSA results. Funds are limited and are generally awarded on a first-apply, first-awarded basis. Memorial scholarships are not guaranteed from year to year.
