Adult Studies
General Financial Aid Policies
If a student is transferring into the Adult Studies program with at least 24 hours of college credit accumulated and has at least a 3.0 cum. GPA they may be awarded on the following scale.
3.00 – 3.39 $1000 per year (½ Fall and ½ Spring)
3.40 – 3.74 $1500 per year (½ Fall and ½ Spring)
3.75 – 4.00 $2000 per year (½ Fall and ½ Spring)
A student must take at least 9 hours (full-time for Adult Studies) to receive any academic scholarship funds. If the 9 hours are not reached until the second term, the academic scholarship will not apply to the student account until the second term.
If you do not enter Lipscomb with an academic scholarship, an adult studies student can qualify for one after earning at least 18 hours of credit. They will be awarded according to the scale previously listed.
You must take at least 6 hours per semester to receive a Federal Stafford Loan. You must file a FAFSA and fill out additional paperwork with the Financial Aid Office at Lipscomb to receive a Stafford Loan. The loan will be applied in the term in which 6 hours is taken.
To file a FAFSA, click on “steps to apply.” You may also find information and applications for Stafford loans etc. under “apply for a loan.” There will be 4 items to complete if you are a first time borrower at Lipscomb. If you have had a previous Stafford loan, you will need to print the Stafford loan application (complete the Entrance Interview on the back) and the Disposition of Title IV Funds sheets. These are returned by mail or by fax (966-7640) to the Financial Aid Office.
